MACP is committed to serve our members that consist of the local and international songwriters and music publishers by ensuring that music users are licenced to play music whereas music creators are fairly compensated for their music usage.

Music Authors’ Copyright Protection (MACP) Berhad is a non-profit organisation whose main function is to licence the musical work to various music users and distribute the royalties collected back to our members.

Formed in year 1989, MACP was declared by the Intellectual Property Organisation of Malaysia (MyIPO) as a licensing body in 2012 under the Copyright Act 1987. Our primary mission is to advocate for the rights of music authors comprising lyricists, composers and music publishers. MACP has been a proud member of the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) since year 1990.

MACP represents over 5,000 Malaysian music authors and provide legal avenues for music usage. Vide reciprocal agreements with other organisations around the world which are similar to MACP, we are able to collect and distribute money on behalf of our music authors accordingly when their music is played in another territory and/or jurisdiction.
